Easter Sensory Activity

Everyone has a set of these little plastic eggs that you get from a discount store. They are great to use in all areas of the classroom to hide little treasures in, to discuss and match colours, to count, to write on......the possibilities are endless.
I took them outside and used them in the sensory tub with rice and oats.

The children used scoops to fill half the egg with the rice and oats mixture, looked for the matching colour and joined the two halves together.

The eggs turned into lovely little shakers!!!

They also enjoyed cracking them open and emptying the contents out.

This kept the children busy for a long time and they absolutely loved it.

If you do this activity outside like I did,  you have minimal cleanup!
Happy Easter!!!

  1. Your idea is indeed amazing and will definitely use it for my next party at venues in NYC. Going to book the same venue where we celebrated Easter this year as very impressed with their amazing services and catering.
